Part 2-The Bible

No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. -2 Corinthians 2:11

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.- John 15: 15-17

The awesome thing is, God wants to be known. I believe God inspired people to write His message to us-which we find in the bible. Just like you know your closest confidant’s voice on the phone, what they would say, what they like and what they cannot stand 😊, you can know God. God shares His “mind”, what He values, who He is, by His Spirit when we read His truth.

Romans 10:17 declares “17 So faith comes from hearing the message. And the message that is heard is the message about Christ.”

So where to start? There are many tools to help us learn the Bible. No matter where you are on your journey-IT’S OK! There is a place for you. You don’t need to “get it all” to seek God and read the bible. You don’t need to compare yourself to others. Or maybe you’ve been reading the bible since you were 5 yrs old, and you know all the words but want a fresh connection with God…we can all start where we are.

Jeremiah 33:3 the Lord says, ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Reach out to a fellow sojourner and discuss the bible together. Please don’t be ashamed to ask if you don’t know something. God longs to spend time with you! There are many different translations these days of the Bible at our fingertips.
