Esther Oliveira
Marriage Family Therapist Intern

I believe therapy can be a powerful path to healing, growth, and renewed hope. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where individuals and couples feel supported as they face life’s challenges and discover new possibilities for change. For clients who want it, I incorporate faith into the counseling process, providing space to explore identity, safety, and acceptance in Christ. At the same time, I sincerely respect each person’s unique background and worldview, customizing therapy to fit each client’s individual needs and goals.

My clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Bowenian Family Systems Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I frequently help clients improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and develop practical tools that enhance emotional well-being and foster healthier relationships. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College, as well as a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kairos University. I have been a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) since 2023.

I am bilingual and offer therapy in both English and Portuguese. It is a privilege to support individuals and couples on their path toward healing, restoration, and renewed hope. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
