Professional Counselor Intern

Hey, there!

During my undergraduate career, I had my eyes fixed on the legal field and knew that I wanted to bring couples together.

The area of mediation caught my attention; however, I learned that many times, the individuals involved in the mediation process are looking to stay separated (which, of course, some situations do call for).

Desiring to be the one who meets the couple before they separate, though, I thought backwards and, with a little research, found the counseling field.

Since enrolling in Fairfield University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program in 2023, I've acquired theoretical knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed counseling and career counseling, and have had numerous opportunities to apply this knowledge in practical situations. Currently, I am at the practicum stage of my program, where I have been allowed to further hone my therapeutic skills at Renew Counseling.

In terms of my therapeutic approach, I've found myself gravitating toward, among others, the solution-focused, narrative, and faith-integrated therapies; however, a person-centered approach is the heartbeat of my work, irrespective of theory.

I am open to working with any individual, especially with adolescent and adult males, as I have a heart for them.
