Licensed Clinical Psychologist

As a licensed clinical psychologist, with 13 years of private practice experience, I have been treating clients for over 20 years. Presenting problems that I work with include depression, stress, anxiety, psychiatric symptom management, trauma issues, domestic violence, assertiveness training, substance abuse issues, conflict resolution skills, mood disorders, life transitions and anger-management. Almost all clients I have conducted psychotherapy with carried a diagnosis of a personality disorder. Most of my clinical experience consists of working with the chronically mentally ill. My specialty is working with women who have endured trauma. My experience, primarily, is working with adults.

I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and God’s grace. I address a person’s needs in a compassionate manner as well as providing a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment that allows for personal growth. My approach is insight and growth oriented where I highlight a collaborative therapeutic relationship and advise clients to take an active role in their treatment. I consider myself an eclectic psychotherapist who is client-centered and utilize a psychodynamic viewpoint in case conceptualization.

I graduated from the Alliant International University in Fresno, CA with a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) degree in 2001; completed my pre-doctoral internship at Hutchings Psychiatric Center and Madison County Mental Health in Syracuse, NY in 2000 as well as postdoctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine for two years from 2001-2003 where I specialized in treating the co-occurring disorders population. I also hold a Master of Arts degree from the University of New Haven in Community Clinical Psychology. My training consists of the treatment of emotional disorders utilizing individual and couples psychotherapy. I also have provided clinical supervision, consultation as well as crisis intervention.
