I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from The University of Connecticut and my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Sacred Heart University. I am currently also a School Social Worker helping our youth and families navigate the challenges of this world today. I have previous experience providing therapy and facilitating Intensive Outpatient Programming groups to adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. While my degrees have helped me get this far to do this work, at my core this is who I am. I have always known since I was a child that I was meant to help others, and now I know it's been God's plan for me all along to do his work through helping those in need.
I have an array of experience working with teens, young adults, adults and families experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, grief, personal trauma, life transitions, body image struggles, health issues, school issues, family and relationship difficulties, and more. I am also open to new experiences and willing to tackle new obstacles. I am currently trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and actively bring those frameworks into practice. I also have a personal, close relationship with God, if that is an area you would like to explore more or invite into the therapeutic experience to learn or grow more in your own faith - I'm here for it all!
I aim to provide a safe, nurturing environment for learning, healing and growth to take place. I want you to feel empowered to take the step forward to overcoming obstacles, changing your life for the better and allowing God to work in your life for you, through the power of therapy. I promise to always meet you where you are at, go at your own pace, and honor the journey you are taking, while accompanying you for the ride. The therapeutic relationship is truly a special one, and I hope you will be able to experience it for yourself and see just how much of a difference it can make in your life.
