ABOUT US

We were established in 1983 as a non-profit 501c3 called Southern Connecticut Christian Counseling under a mission to serve people by offering counseling for marriage and family conflict, individual issues, crisis intervention and grief resolution. We intended to serve area churches by being a referral point for pastors and a training ground for other young professionals feeling called to help others. We intended to serve the communities that we were in by providing treatment, referrals, training programs and community-minded seminars.

Nothing (and everything) has changed since 1983, the first of which being our name. We are now Renew Counseling, and our core tenants remain the same. We are here to deliver, with excellence to our patients and community, the care and counsel they seek.

Statement of Faith

Whole-Person Care:
We care for the whole person by encouraging holistic health and wellness. We believe that emotional, physical, and spiritual health are all critical for well-being. Matthew 22:36-39 & 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Integrity:
We uphold moral and ethical principles in our daily practice. Luke 6:31, Micah 6:8, Proverbs 4:26, Proverbs 21:3

Indiscriminate:
We are a Christ-centered organization, who believes all people are loved by God, made in His image and are welcome. Deuteronomy 1:17

Unity:
We seek to be unified in our purpose, while honoring our God given diversity. We extend grace and truth in our dealings with one another, as an example of Christ's call to love one another and bear one another's burdens. 1 Corinthians 1:10, John 13:35
